The incident occurred on June 4 in Czerna (Nowogrodziec municipality). The 33-year-old man was spending time with friends at a nearby bar. They drank a lot of alcohol. When they went outside, the 33-year-old threw a bar stool at the pole. The damage was estimated at nearly PLN 500.
The man was found at one of the hotels. He admitted damaging the pole, but was unable to explain why he had done it. He claimed it was because he had consumed a large amount of alcohol. He now faces up to 5 years in prison.
The police appeal to residents of the county to respond to acts of vandalism, especially in the case of devices such as speed cameras, which make our roads safer.
