Despite the increased number of police patrols, more than a thousand intoxicated drivers were detained across Poland during the first two days of the long weekend. On Friday and Saturday, 35 people died in road accidents and more than 400 were injured.
However, police activities related to Operation Znicz are not limited to patrolling streets and directing traffic on roads leading to cemeteries. The operation also aims to ensure the safety of people staying in cemeteries and their vicinity. Therefore, foot patrols by the Police will also appear in designated areas.
