A tragic accident occurred before three o’clock in the morning. Just outside Bolesławiec, on the road to Lwówek Śląski, 200 metres beyond the forester’s lodge, the driver of a Volkswagen Golf passenger car overtook a minibus, then drove into a ditch and hit a tree. The driver died at the scene, while four people were taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec.
The car had registration plates from Lwówek Śląski. The young people were probably returning from a nightclub.

Another accident occurred at around 9:10 a.m. on national road A18. Near the exit to Świętoszów, an off-road vehicle left the road and overturned. The vehicle went into a roadside grove and cut down two small trees. Two people suffered minor injuries. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

According to the police, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf failed to exercise due caution. What is more, the person responsible for the accident was drunk.
