On December 4, City Hall employees approved the quality of the renovation of the pavement and construction of drainage on Kubika Street. The scope of the completed works included, among other things, removing the damaged pavements along the section from Komuny Paryskiej Street to Piaskowa Street and constructing new ones from concrete paving blocks. “The renovated pavement has been adapted not only for pedestrian traffic, but also for bicycle traffic,” President Piotr Roman reports.
More and more bicycle paths of this kind are being built in Bolesławiec, and in the future they will form part of a larger network of cycling paths and routes in the city, also running through recreational and leisure areas. The total cost of the renovation amounted to nearly PLN 125,000. More than PLN 97,000 was allocated for this purpose from the city budget, with the remainder contributed by the District Office. The investment was carried out by a company from Bolesławiec.
Linear road drainage was also installed along the curb on Kubika Street to prevent rainwater from flooding nearby buildings. A PVC pipe was also installed and a concrete well was constructed as part of the works. The cost of draining Kubika Street—from the section between Komuny Paryskiej Street and Piaskowa Street—amounted to nearly PLN 85,000. The investment was carried out by Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej.
