Next Monday, 6 August, the seventeenth Blues nad Bobrem festival begins in Bolesławiec. The event will conclude with a closing concert scheduled for Tuesday, 14 August, just before the holiday. The several-hour performance at the Amphitheatre on Spacerowa Street in Bolesławiec will begin at 6:00 p.m. The stage will feature, among others, the groups Dżem and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, as well as the world-famous Czech band -123 Min.

The Bolesławiec festival is in fact four major blues events. It comprises music workshops, daily jam sessions, the National Review of Blues Bands (which, as of this year, bears the name of Tadeusz Nalepa), and the closing concert.

Registration for the workshops continues until the very last moment—that is, until they begin. And this is hardly surprising. During the workshops, beginner musicians and vocalists can benefit from the knowledge of such well-known stars of the Polish blues and jazz scene as Krystyna Prońko, Aleksandra Sozańska-Kut, Maciej Balcar, Leszek Cichoński, Krzysztof Puma Piasecki, Artur Lesicki, Bogdan Lizoń, Kasia Maliszewska, Roman Puchowski, Tomasz Grabowy, Wojtek Pilichowski, Bartek Łęczycki, Roman Badeński, Zdzisław Babiarski and Zbigniew Lewandowski. There is considerable interest in taking part in the workshops, but places are still available, so this is the last opportunity to register for the classes.

As of this year, the Festival Club is located at the “Skafander” venue on 3 Marca Street in Bolesławiec. This is where daily music gatherings (jam sessions), lasting several hours, will take place, and on 11 August the National Review of Blues Bands will be held.

The festival is scheduled to conclude on 14 August. The closing concert will then take place, featuring nine blues groups, led by Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, Obstawą Prezydenta, and the bands Dżem and -123 Min. It is worth adding that the honorary patronage of the entire event has been assumed by the Mayor of Bolesławiec, Piotr Roman, while it is organized by the Bolesławiec-based “Blues nad Bobrem” Association in cooperation with the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre and the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec.
