The incident occurred on 11 July on Buczka Street. The 50-year-old was returning home when his 26-year-old neighbour accosted him. The young man was completely drunk. He blocked his acquaintance’s way in the stairwell. He did not want to let him into his own flat. A scuffle broke out, during which the 26-year-old stabbed his older neighbour in the abdomen. The injured man, suffering serious bodily injuries, was taken to hospital.
The attacker had previously been convicted of drug possession. He was arrested on 12 July. He confessed to the crime. By decision of the District Court in Bolesławiec, he was remanded in custody for three months. He will be charged with causing serious bodily harm to the victim. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
