Wednesday’s meeting of the Culture and Sport Committee of the City Council was dominated by a discussion about the money that the Blues nad Bobrem Association received to organize the “Bolesławiec na Śnieżce” event. Councillors Hubert Prabucki of Ziemia Bolesławiecka and Ewa Ołenicz of Platforma Obywatelska asked Deputy Mayor Wiesław Ogrodnik about the event’s costs and results. Wiesław Ogrodnik was unable to answer, however, because he had not attended the event. Elżbieta Chojnacka, head of the Department of Development and Promotion, explained that the money was spent mainly on transport and renting exhibition space.

The councillors were not entirely satisfied with these answers, so they demanded strict oversight of the next funds the Association receives, this time for organizing the “Blues nad Bobrem” Festival. Wiesław Ogrodnik assured them that such oversight would be provided.

“We made sure that the city was promoted effectively. Every day, at least several thousand people visited Bolesławiec’s stand. We received PLN 10,000 from the city,” Dariusz Gruszecki, president of the “Blues nad Bobrem” Association, told Boleslawiec.org.
