– The University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec was established on October 13, 2007, and is affiliated with the Wrocław University of Economics – Wiesława Olczyk, the UTW representative, reminded those gathered Wiesława Olczyk. – From the very beginning, the activities of our University have created a significant opportunity to meet the important needs of Bolesławiec’s seniors. These include the need to be socially useful, accepted, and emotionally connected, as well as to continue their intellectual, social and physical development – added Wiesława Olczyk.
The aims of the University of the Third Age include promoting the idea of lifelong learning and enabling and facilitating older people’s access to the achievements of modern science and technology. Its diverse educational program is tailored to the expectations and needs of its students.
The University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec offers, among other things, foreign-language classes, computer training, rehabilitation exercises, dance exercises, painting, music and psychology workshops, lectures, integration events, and sightseeing and educational trips.
– The University of the Third Age makes it much more effective to pursue dreams and certain expectations—to achieve things that one did not manage to accomplish during one’s professional life because there was no time for them – said Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman during the inauguration.
This academic year, 165 students began attending classes.
