On Tuesday, October 11, after 3:00 p.m., officers from the Lubin traffic police were patrolling the district’s roads. At the intersection of National Road No. 3 and Ścinawska Street, they noticed an Audi driver proceeding straight from a lane designated for left turns. They immediately set off after him. They gave the driver a clear signal to stop the vehicle. However, ignoring both other road users and the signals being given, he accelerated and began fleeing from the police car. Near the exit to the village of Czerniec, the fleeing driver lost control of the car and left the road, ending up in a roadside ditch before overturning. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
It turned out that the 24-year-old resident of Lubin municipality was fleeing because he was under the influence of drugs. The man lost his driving licence. He faces up to two years in prison.
