Ryszard Kawka, Michał Bojanowski and Zbigniew Mitera left the PSL group and formed their own—the independent councillors’ group. The Bolesławiec County authorities had previously been run by a Platforma Samorządowa–PSL–SLD coalition. The starosta, Dariusz Kwaśniewski, is from Platforma, the deputy starosta, Marian Haniszewski, is from the Polish People’s Party, and the full-time member of the County Board, Stanisław Chwojnicki, is from the Democratic Left Alliance. Now things will be somewhat different.

“The three of us decided that we did not fully trust the deputy starosta, so we left the PSL group,” R. Kawka, head of the newly formed councillors’ group, told “ii”. As a result, the People’s Party group in the County Council ceased to exist. (Only two councillors remained in it: Ewa Sondaj and Ewa Suchecka, and at least three councillors are needed to form a group.) “For now, we are in the coalition,” emphasises the chairman of the independent councillors’ group. Will the new coalition group therefore want to replace the deputy starosta? “I don’t know; for now, we are working together,” Ryszard Kawka added.

Let us recall that at the beginning of September we reported that the county PSL councillors’ group had lost one member—non-full-time County Board member Zbigniew Mitera. The councillor left because, during one of the Board’s meetings, the deputy starosta allegedly insulted him. In a conversation with “ii”, Z. Mitera explained that he had asked whether crash barriers would be installed in Kierżno (Nowogrodziec municipality). In response, the deputy starosta allegedly told him not to “get uppity”.

Zbigniew Mitera has left the county PSL councillors’ group but remains a member of the County Board; Ryszard Kawka remains chairman of the Audit Committee, and Michał Bojanowski remains deputy chairman of the County Council.

We will certainly return to this subject.
