Officers from the Economic Crime Unit of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec detained, as a result of operational activities, a resident of Lubań suspected of possessing tobacco without Polish excise-duty markings. What is more, it turned out that the 44-year-old woman, while running a retail outlet in Bolesławiec, offered customers products that did not bear Polish excise-duty markings.

The officers seized a total of 11.5 kg of illegal tobacco and 89 packs of cigarettes without Polish excise-duty markings. The losses to the State Treasury were estimated at more than PLN 10,000. The 44-year-old woman, suspected of illegally possessing and trading tobacco and cigarettes without Polish excise-duty markings, faces up to three years in prison as well as heavy financial penalties.
