Police officers from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra detained an 18-year-old suspected of burglary. They determined that the incident took place during the night of 16–17 September this year in one of the car parks in Jelenia Góra–Cieplice. The victim had left his car there, and when he arrived at the car park in the morning, he noticed smashed windows, missing wheels and a broken fuel filler neck. Forty litres of fuel were also missing. The car owner estimated his losses at PLN 5,000.

He notified the police of the crime. Officers determined that the brazen theft had been committed by an 18-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. The officers’ suspicions were confirmed: they found the stolen wheels in an outbuilding belonging to the teenager. It is possible that the suspect has committed more similar offences. He was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
