As informed by the spokesperson for the Bolesławiec County State Fire Service Headquarters, junior brigadier Piotr Pilarczyk, the operation has essentially been concluded. The road is passable. “We are standing beyond Kruszyn, at the place where the container with this barrel was neutralized by covering it with lime,” the spokesperson for the Bolesławiec fire service tells “ii”.
During the night, the uniformed services moved the container with the hazardous substance outside the built-up area. It was then decided to cancel the evacuation. Residents returned to their homes.
The hazardous substance is industrial acid (it will be tested to determine whether it was sulfuric or hydrochloric acid). The services are waiting for a container truck to remove the barrel containing the substance. During loading, the road from Kruszyn to Tomaszów will be closed.

The entire operation ended on Sunday at approximately 7:00 p.m. The barrel containing the industrial acid was removed. The substance will be disposed of.
