On 6 September, officers on patrol duty in Jelenia Góra spotted a moving car that had probably been stolen earlier. After stopping the car and checking the driver's identity, it turned out that the 20-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County had neither a driving licence nor the vehicle documents. During questioning, the detainee explained that at night he had broken into a car parked in a car park, started it and driven away. To prevent the car from being identified, he threw away the old registration plates and installed different ones in their place.

The police recovered the stolen car; it will be handed over to its owner. The 20-year-old suspected of burglary faces up to 10 years in prison.
