Police officers from Chojnów received a report concerning a domestic dispute in one of the nearby towns. When the patrol arrived at the scene, the woman who had reported the incident said that the dispute had been resolved and that there were no grounds for continuing the intervention. Several hours later, the same woman reported a family dispute. This time, it turned out that the 32-year-old had doused his wife with a petroleum-based liquid and threatened to set her on fire. Police officers determined that the man had been abusing his wife for some time.
The 32-year-old suspected of domestic violence was detained and then, by decision of the District Court in Legnica, temporarily remanded in custody for two months. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
