The incident took place in the evening on al. Tysiąclecia, between the building on Jana Pawła II and Biedronka. An ambulance took the man away; he had an injured leg.
Initial findings indicate that the motorcyclist was not traveling too fast and was not drunk. Witnesses and the motorcyclist claim that the man was standing before the crossing, but it did not look as though he intended to cross. The motorcyclist slowed down as he approached the crossing. When he could no longer brake, the elderly man stepped onto the crossing. The road was slippery, which extended the braking distance, and the motorcyclist struck the pedestrian.
