The competition is being organised as part of the European Heritage Days, in which the Museum in Bolesławiec participates every year. The competition is open to residents of the city and Bolesławiec County. Participants will draw a package containing two reproductions of old postcards or photographs—one depicting the city of Bolesławiec and the other an object located in Bolesławiec County. The reproductions will show various types of historical monuments: religious and secular buildings, as well as monuments. The organisers stipulate that the object shown in a reproduction may no longer exist today.
Participants will be tasked with finding the places shown in the reproductions and taking contemporary photographs of them. Participants will compete in two categories: professionals and amateurs. The competition jury, made up of professional photographers, will assess whether the objects have been correctly located and the artistic value of the photographs.
The envelopes containing the tasks will be drawn at the Museum of Ceramics, Department of the History of the City, at 14 Kutuzowa Street in Bolesławiec, on Friday and Saturday, 5 and 6 August, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The final deadline for submitting photographs is 5 September 2016. The competition results will be announced on 17 September at 12:00 noon at the Museum of Ceramics, Department of the History of the City, at 14 Kutuzowa Street, during the competition finale. The competition details can be found in the attached rules and regulations. We warmly invite you to participate.
