Police officers from the Criminal Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 31-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of theft. While in the area of Obrońców Pokoju Street in Jelenia Góra, the officers noticed a man known to them. His behavior attracted the patrol’s attention, as the 31-year-old was hurrying and carrying a stuffed shopping bag. Since he had previously been detained for various offenses, the officers suspected that he might have stolen something. They decided to check.
During the investigation, it turned out that the man had CDs worth approximately PLN 500 in the shopping bag, which he had stolen moments earlier from one of the stores. The employees realized that a theft had taken place in the store only when the uniformed officers arrived.
The man was detained in police custody. The officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the case in detail. The thief may face up to five years in prison.
