Lump-sum compensation is a benefit available to insured persons who have suffered an accident at work or contracted an occupational disease. For each percentage point of permanent or long-term damage to health, an employee will receive PLN 495. The compensation amount in this case increased by PLN 43. If, on the other hand, the insured person is certified as completely unable to work and unable to live independently, the lump-sum compensation rate for the next year will be PLN 8,670, meaning that this amount increased by PLN 339.

Information about the current lump-sum compensation rates can be found in Monitor Polski of 2007, No. 18, item 218, or on the website of the Social Insurance Institution.
