The Bolesławiec Athletics Centre and its coaches (Bartosz Gruman, Sylwia Kawałko, Wanda Wysocka and Rafał Kwieciński) organised an inter-school event on 16 June 2016 as part of the Athletics for Everyone! programme, which has been promoting sport among children and young people in Bolesławiec since September 2014.
The competition was attended by representatives of Years 1–3 from Bolesławiec primary schools (SP 2, SP 3, SP 4 and SP 5), as well as SP Bożejowice. The aim of the competition was to popularise athletics, improve the children’s health and physical fitness, and promote new and attractive forms of physical activity. Each team competed in five events: a 30 m sprint relay, cross jumps, standing long jump, a 30 m hurdles relay and a backward overhead ball throw. After the competition, each participant received a commemorative medal and certificate.
The event’s partners were PKN Orlen, Nestlé Polska S.A., the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Polish Athletics Association and the Bolesławiec Municipal Office.
The organisers would like to thank the management and staff of ZSOiZ, early-years teachers from the schools participating in the event, and the volunteers (coaches and athletes from MKS Bolesłavia) for their assistance in organising the competition.
