According to county officials, one of the most rational solutions would be to expand II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka in Bolesławiec. “We do not want to move the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych to II LO,” explains “ii” secretary of Bolesławiec County Radosław Palczewski. “II LO is staying.”

If this concept is approved, another building will be added to the II LO premises, and the special school will be housed there. “These will be two separate buildings, two separate schools and two separate teaching staffs,” the secretary lists. There are unlikely to be any major changes to the way the “two” operates. Probably, one floor will be handed over to PZSiPS students.

This will certainly be an investment worth several million złotys. “But economically, this is the best solution,” stresses R. Palczewski.

So, will II LO be expanded? Consultations on the matter are currently under way. The County Board will meet with both councillors and representatives of the two institutions. “We want to find out what councillors and teachers think about it, what objections they have and whether they see any advantages to this solution,” the secretary adds.

If the expansion of II LO goes ahead, the current premises of PZSiPS will probably be sold. We will return to the subject.
