Police officers from the Zgorzelec traffic unit stopped a passenger car driver in Białogórze who was driving at nearly 100 km/h. The driver, who exceeded the speed limit by almost 50 km/h in a built-up area, turned out to be a 62-year-old foreign national.
The officers informed the man that he would receive a fine. Wanting to avoid liability, he offered the police officers money. He wanted to give them a PLN 200 bribe to settle the matter.
The officers’ refusal did not discourage the man at all. He took two PLN 100 banknotes from his wallet and placed them on the police service notebook.
The foreign national was arrested. He will now face charges both for the traffic offence and for attempting to offer the police officers a financial benefit.
