This year, for the sixth time, UTA organized the Municipal Senior Olympics. The Olympics, organized for various senior groups from Bolesławiec, hosted the UTA from Gromadka this year. As usual, the event attracted considerable interest from Bolesławiec seniors, who actively took part in many forms of physical activity.
It is worth recalling that the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec offers a diverse program tailored to the expectations and needs of its students. In addition to regular lectures, also addressed to city residents, trips to the theater, opera and philharmonic are held, as well as sightseeing and tourist excursions. UTA students attend vernissages and meetings with travelers and interesting people. Thematic meetings are very popular.
Recruitment for the University of the Third Age begins in May. Spiritus movens of the UTA, Wiesława Olczyk, warmly encourages people to enroll in classes for the new academic year.
The University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec was established in 2007 and is affiliated with the Wrocław University of Economics. The aim of the University of the Third Age is, among other things, to promote the idea of lifelong learning, enable and facilitate older people’s access to the achievements of modern science and technology, and counteract the social and digital exclusion of seniors. The classes also facilitate access to all forms of intellectual and physical activity, according to the age, level of fitness and interests of UTA students.
