Officers from Kruszyn and Bolesławiec identified the perpetrators of two thefts through operational activities. The incidents occurred at the beginning of the week in Bolesławiec County.
On May 9, the detainees—Bolesławiec residents aged 24 and 19—acted together to steal ladders worth more than PLN 1,400 from a retail store.
The following day, the 24-year-old stole a car in Bolesławiec Municipality. The thief took advantage of the fact that the driver had left the keys in the vehicle, which its owner valued at PLN 3,000.
The 24-year-old is a repeat offender with a record of numerous property-related crimes. Police recovered the stolen vehicle.
Both detained men have already been charged. They face up to five years in prison.
