Operational police officers from Zgorzelec and Zawidów conducted operations targeting property crime. Since the beginning of May, there had been burglaries of cars and commercial premises in Zawidów.
After just a few days, officers detained two men suspected of these crimes. The first was a 31-year-old resident of Zawidów. His record included, among other things, breaking into a car and a butcher’s shop. His haul consisted of a car radio, computer equipment, a cash register, a butcher’s cleaver and money. The second detainee was a 26-year-old resident of Zawidów who broke into a delivery van and stole its battery and other items.
During these operations, officers also detained a man suspected of possessing tobacco without Polish excise stamps. He was also a resident of Zawidów, aged 28. On his property, officers found illegal cut tobacco—nearly 70 kg worth more than PLN 35,000 at market value.
