The trainees entered the Bolesławiec regiment at the beginning of January. For the first three months, they learned the basics of military service as part of basic training. The final month consisted of specialist training, during which they acquired the knowledge and practical skills required for a specific military specialty.

At the end of the training, from April 22 to 27, the trainees took theoretical and practical examinations assessing their readiness to perform military service in their assigned military specialty.

The tasks faced by volunteers preparing to serve in artillery and armored subunits included performing individual standards as members of the crews of the Dana self-propelled howitzer, the WR-40 Langusta multiple rocket launcher and the Leopard-2 tank—the latter at the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów—as well as a test of their knowledge of the equipment's construction. Their colleagues specializing in motorized infantry took examinations on performing marksmanship standards, weapon construction, grenade throwing and medical training. The examinations proved that during the four months of training, candidates for service in the National Reserve Forces had been well prepared for their future duties.

The completion of the trainees' training was preceded by the signing of contracts with representatives of military units and the recognition of soldiers who achieved the highest training results.

“While congratulating you on completing your training, I would like to thank you for your commitment, discipline and four months of hard, intensive work. At the final assembly at the 23rd Artillery Regiment, I wish you success in pursuing your further professional plans and success in service at the military units where you signed contracts to perform duties within the National Reserve Forces,” said the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Acting Lieutenant Colonel Witold Zawadzki.

After the ceremonial order was read, 10 trainees who achieved the highest results during preparatory training and the final examinations were honored with letters of commendation. The soldiers' assembly concluding the four-month training of the trainees from the first preparatory-service intake of the year for the National Reserve Forces ended with a parade of subunits.

As part of the first 2016 preparatory-service intake for the National Reserve Forces, the Preparatory Service Training Center based at the 23rd Artillery Regiment trained trainees in the following specialties: operation of artillery guns and rocket launchers, operation of the Leopard-2 tank, mortar operation, operation of surveying and topographic instruments, and motorized infantry. Training for the next, second intake will begin on May 4 of this year.
