Police officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of robbery. The crime took place last summer on one of the city’s streets. When the victim was returning home from a party, a man approached him and demanded a cigarette. When the victim refused, he was attacked and then robbed. The robber took a mobile phone worth PLN 400.
The victim notified the police about the incident. Based on the information obtained, officers identified a 23-year-old suspected of committing the robbery. However, the man was not at home. It turned out that he had been hiding from the officers because he was due to serve a prison sentence for other offences.
The attacker was taken to pre-trial detention. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
