The Cooper test is an endurance test developed by American physician Kenneth H. Cooper for the U.S. Army in 1968. It consists of a continuous 12-minute run. – The purpose of the test is to determine maximum aerobic capacity, which is an indicator of physical fitness. It is assessed according to age and sex based on the distance covered – says coach Damian Śliwiński.
– We have been holding BiegamBoLubię sessions in Bolesławiec for a month now, and they are attracting growing interest. New participants are joining us. Spring is a good time to start being active – says coach Dariusz Łomański. – We especially invite amateurs who have had enough of inactivity. Of course, experienced runners are also welcome. After attending our sessions, they will look at running somewhat differently. Particularly on Thursdays, we try to share some of the latest running knowledge and show areas that are often neglected by the latter. Taking the Cooper test can be an excellent beginning to an adventure with running.
– Participants in the test will be able to test themselves again in the autumn and compare their spring results – adds Damian Śliwiński.
All test participants will receive a commemorative diploma, while the best participants and the youngest ones will receive a photograph with the autograph of our 800 m world championship runner-up Adama Kszczota.
– We invite everyone on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. to the Lekkoatletyczny Orlik on Komuny Paryskiej Street – say the organizers.
