One of the dynamically operating facilities is the Śnieżnik small-arms training and simulation system, which has been in operation in the Brigade since 2006. Using this simulator, soldiers can conduct individual training for a single shooter or train an entire squad in various conditions that simulate real battlefield conditions.

Every day, a sizeable group of armored troops takes part in training on Śnieżnik. Using the device’s capabilities, soldiers carry out shooting exercises in which they can create their own tasks based on a database of targets and combat figures, as well as battlefield exercises characteristic of military unit operations. It is possible to conduct fire at distances of several hundred kilometers and to simulate simultaneous fire by a squad, using varied training scenarios.

The command battery, conducting its scheduled training on Śnieżnik under the leadership of Lieutenant Łukasz Bogdał, was preparing for guard duty. Taking advantage of the wide range of situations offered by the simulator, the soldiers practiced stopping unauthorized persons at a post, a sentry’s conduct toward people approaching in conditions of good and limited visibility, actions during an attack, and much more. The training stations were then also practiced outside Śnieżnik.

During the exercises, the soldiers applied in practice their knowledge of the principles of small-arms fire, the ability to follow regulations when using weapons while performing guard duty, and their knowledge of the legal conditions governing the use of weapons. They also improved their ability to fire a rifle and their knowledge of the construction and tactical and technical specifications of their standard-issue weapons. The final stage of the training consisted of instruction in standards for defense against weapons of mass destruction and medical training.
