Police officers from the prevention division of the Lubin police wanted to stop the driver of an Audi for a check. They gave the man a clear signal to stop. However, instead of stopping, he accelerated and began to flee. The officers set off in pursuit.
The 34-year-old resident of Lubin ended his escape at one of the intersections. He entered the intersection at speed from a minor road. Another driver was correctly travelling along the road with right of way. A collision occurred. Fortunately, no one was injured. The Lubin resident was detained.
The driver fleeing from the police was sober. As it turned out, the reason for his escape was that he did not have a driving licence, which had been revoked by a court decision. His driving ban was in effect until 24 October 2016.
The 34-year-old now faces up to three years in prison.
