Officers from the Prevention Division of the Lubin police headquarters arrested four residents of Legnica, aged between 26 and 35. The men are suspected of burglary at an outbuilding in Lubin. The perpetrators stole power tools worth more than PLN 5,000. Their swift arrest was made possible thanks to information provided by one of Lubin’s residents.
Police established that the perpetrators must have prepared for the theft well in advance. Their navigation system had the address where the items they were interested in were supposedly located. It was meant to be a quick operation. They drove to the indicated address. Three of them broke into the outbuilding where the power tools were kept. The fourth waited for his companions in the car with the engine running.
A Lubin resident witnessed the entire incident and informed the duty officer at the Lubin police station about the break-in. The information quickly reached officers in the city.
Armed with information about the make and color of the car used by the perpetrators, officers began searching for them. One patrol spotted the vehicle at the edge of the city. The driver initially tried to avoid being stopped. However, after a short chase, he was arrested in Lubin Gmina, along with the remaining perpetrators. Police recovered all the stolen items.
All four detainees now face up to 10 years in prison.
