On 13 March, police officers from Pieńsk carried out operations targeting people suspected of property-related crimes. During the operation, they detained a man suspected of committing a shoplifting offence that had taken place the previous day in Węgliniec. He turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Zgorzelec.
The police officers handling the case also identified his accomplice, a 22-year-old resident of Zgorzelec, who was detained by officers from the NYSA group.
The perpetrators stole 9 pairs of sports shoes with a total value of approximately one thousand zlotys.
Both detainees face up to 5 years in prison.
