On March 10, 2016, late in the evening, the duty officer at the Zgorzelec District Police Headquarters received a telephone report about a truck driver who was making very strange maneuvers on the road. The duty officer immediately sent traffic police officers there.

The officers located the truck in the village of Trójca, near Zgorzelec. The man's very first words indicated that he was heavily drunk. He was most surprised by the fact that in... the Netherlands, Polish police officers stop vehicles for inspection.

The 41-year-old driver could not believe that he was in Poland, not the Netherlands. As it turned out, there was a reason for this. He had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system and, unsurprisingly, had great difficulty getting out of the vehicle's cab.

The detained man may face up to 2 years in prison.
