On 3 March 2016, officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police (CBŚP) Jelenia Góra Division, together with officers of the Customs Chamber in Wrocław, discovered a “production line” for methamphetamine in utility rooms on allotment gardens in Bogatynia occupied by Andrzej J.
Items and various types of chemical substances used to produce drugs were secured at the scene. A significant quantity of methamphetamine was also discovered, amounting to no less than 1,000 grams net—including approximately 43 grams in crystalline form and 700 ml in liquid form. The total value of the secured substances was estimated at approximately PLN 80,000.
During these activities, officers arrested the suspect, Andrzej J. The other perpetrator fled the scene, abandoning along the way a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
Measures are currently under way to arrest the other man.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Zgorzelec, the local District Court ordered preventive detention for Andrzej J. for a period of three months.
The offense with which he has been charged carries a sentence of 3 to 15 years’ imprisonment.
