A resident informed us about the thefts on Jagiellonów Street (off Piastów Street). A few days ago, a thief tried to steal a ladder during the day. Fortunately, one of the residents noticed him, and the would-be lover of other people’s property was detained by construction workers. The police were called to the scene and... recorded the culprit’s details.
This is not the only case of theft or attempted theft on this street. Previously, several pallets and a pool pump were stolen from in front of one of the properties. Many other small items have disappeared from other construction sites and plots, or signs of “third-party activity” have been discovered. Residents fear that this practice will not end there. Thieves can in fact steal anything that can be sold.
According to residents, Jagiellonów Street would be safer if lighting were installed there. In November last year, residents brought this issue to the city office’s attention. In response, they were informed that a project exists to build the road together with lighting and drainage for the street. However, the project will be updated and carried out once it is included in the list of investment tasks for the coming years. Until then, the road will be regularly levelled and reinforced with crushed stone.
How can you protect yourself from theft until the street is lit? We invite you to join the discussion.
