A man entered a shop at a petrol station and said that everything would soon blow up because he had planted an explosive device there. The station employees fled the building and notified the police duty officer about the incident.
Officers secured the area around the station and carried out a bomb-disposal inspection. No explosive device was found. A dozen or so police officers and firefighters from a rescue and firefighting unit took part in the operation.
While reviewing footage from the surveillance cameras inside the shop, one of the officers recognized the man who had threatened to detonate the bomb.
The “joker” was arrested. He is a 32-year-old resident of Legnica and was taken into police custody. He could now face up to 8 years in prison.
