The fact that some residents of Bolesławiec do not know that our Selective Municipal Waste Collection Point operates here (at ul. Staszica, next to the Municipal Public Utilities Company) was pointed out during the December session of the Bolesławiec City Council by councillor Dariusz Mucha (we wrote about this in the article Will the “Show class, clean up after your pet” campaign continue?).

What can a resident of Bolesławiec bring to the aforementioned PSZOK (open Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.):

  • glass
  • paper
  • metals
  • plastics
  • multilayer packaging
  • biodegradable municipal waste, including green waste
  • construction and demolition waste in the form of clean rubble (brick, concrete)
  • used electrical and electronic equipment
  • furniture and other bulky waste
  • used passenger-car tires
  • used batteries and accumulators
  • textiles and clothing
  • expired medicines and chemicals
  • problematic municipal waste (including mercury thermometers, fire extinguishers, paint, varnish and aerosol cans, used lubricants, oils and adhesives).

And if they bring it themselves, they will not pay a penny for its collection.

The same applies to bulky waste. If we want to get rid of, for example, a sofa (and have no way to transport it ourselves), we can place the furniture outside the house and notify the Municipal Public Utilities Company. The sofa will be collected within 48 hours, free of charge.

The situation is different in the case of rubble. Renting a container and having 1 m3 of this construction waste removed costs PLN 178, plus PLN 7 per day for the container’s placement. Unless we do it ourselves—in that case, as we have already reported, we will pay nothing.
