Dragoons’ training at the OSPWL Żagań training facilities, with the group deployed at the Karliki camp, will last seven weeks. During this time, the subunit’s task will be to achieve readiness and conduct certification of the mechanized battalion’s platoons as part of the NATO Response Force.
Seven hundred soldiers and more than 100 pieces of various types of equipment set out on January 18 for one of the most important exercises of the year. From the late morning hours, the battalion, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Wojciech Strzelecki, formed a column of equipment, which then crossed the Kwisa and moved to the designated area in a security march.
The Dragoons will begin intensive training in the first few days. Ahead of them are exercises in tactical and firing proficiency; improvement of skills in planning, organizing and coordinating operations, including training; an assessment of the command staff’s methodological skills at company and battalion level in conducting training; and training in planning, organizing and carrying out the certification of subunit platoons after the period of team training and platoon integration.
