Its guiding words will be those of one of the eight Beatitudes: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Mt 5:7). The culmination of World Youth Day will be a meeting with the Holy Father Francis – on July 31 at Kraków’s Błonia Park.
Before the central events, the “Days in the Dioceses” will take place. As part of them, from July 20 to 25, 2016, we will host hundreds of young people from different corners of the world in Bolesławiec. Together with them, we will travel to Kraków for the main events; anyone interested in attending World Youth Day is asked to contact their parish priest.
“During the ‘Days in the Dioceses’, the residents of Bolesławiec will be able to introduce the pilgrims to our history, culture and customs, as well as the life of our local church community. Without a doubt, this will be an excellent opportunity to promote our city around the world,” say representatives of Campus Bolesławiec.
They add: “We are looking for families willing to welcome young people into their homes and ready to provide them with: a place to sleep (it may be on the floor; the pilgrims will bring sleeping mats and sleeping bags); access to a bathroom; breakfast and dinner; and transport (escorting them to their accommodation and to the places where joint meetings will be held).
The representatives of Campus Bolesławiec encourage everyone who would like to host pilgrims to complete the registration form (below). It should be left at their parish.
“We also encourage everyone—not only young people—to participate in volunteering. You can join the work of the four diaconias operating at our Campus: music, liturgy, logistics and media. Please leave the completed registration form (attached) with your parish priest,” emphasize the local World Youth Day organizers.
