Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, while patrolling the municipal area, noticed a man sitting in one of the cars. They decided to check what he was doing. However, upon seeing the uniformed officers, he got out of the car and began to flee. He was detained after a short pursuit.
It turned out that the 26-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County had broken into the car. He was already dismantling the ignition in order to steal it. The value of the vehicle whose theft was prevented by the officers was PLN 11,000.
Moreover, it emerged that the man had previously been convicted of vehicle thefts and other similar offenses. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
