On the morning of December 6, operational police officers from Bogatynia were conducting an operation targeting people suspected of property-related crimes. During the operation, in Sieniawka, they noticed a passenger car that was listed as stolen in police information systems.

The vehicle’s ignition had been damaged. A 26-year-old resident of Bogatynia was inside the car, carrying a lock pick, known as a “sztos.” It turned out that the car had been stolen several days earlier in Zgorzelec.

At the detained woman’s apartment, police officers found more lock picks and power tools suspected of possibly having been stolen.

The police are now investigating all the circumstances of the case in detail and checking whether the detained woman has committed other crimes of this type.

The 26-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
