"We are able to deliver heat to our customers within 24 hours," says Zbigniew Tarczyński, technical director at the Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej (ZEC) in Bolesławiec. Heat will be delivered to homes once customers report such a demand. "It is enough for one of the larger customers, requiring around 50% of our heating plant’s capacity, to submit a request, and then, under the agreement, we must provide the energy," the director explains. The largest heat customers are Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Bolesławianka and Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Mieszkaniowej.

The new chimney is an insulated steel structure, 45 metres high and 1.80 metres in diameter. The investment cost PLN 260,000 and was financed entirely from funds generated by ZEC. This means that the investment will not necessitate an increase in heat delivery prices.

The prices of heat energy depend mainly on the prices of fuel and electricity. In addition, the heating plant is bound by tariffs set by the Urząd Regulacji Energetyki.
