On November 29, operational police officers from Bogatynia conducted activities targeting individuals suspected of property-related crimes. During the operation, they identified a suspect in the burglary of a parked passenger car, which had taken place several days earlier. The perpetrator stole a car navigation system worth several hundred zlotys.
As it turned out, the man had more crimes to his name. He committed burglary at a building materials store twice, taking various materials. He also broke into a repair workshop, from which he stole workshop and measuring tools, a welding machine, motorcycle helmets and other items. The suspect will also face charges for burglaries involving the fuel tanks of trucks; in total, he stole nearly 700 liters of diesel fuel.
Moreover, several days earlier he took advantage of the owner leaving the car door open and stole a backpack containing documents, payment cards and money.
In total, the serial thief caused losses exceeding ten thousand zlotys. Bogatynia police officers recovered some of the stolen property.
The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison.
