From November 26 to 29 this year, officers from the Zgorzelec traffic unit arrested as many as five drivers of passenger cars under the influence of narcotics and six under the influence of alcohol. Those arrested were residents of Zgorzelec and the surrounding area, Bogatynia, and the Pieńsk municipality.
The youngest was 24 and the oldest was 57. In every case, the drivers’ behavior aroused the officers’ suspicions regarding the drivers’ sobriety.
It is worth adding that on November 29, police officers stopped a 28-year-old resident of Zgorzelec for a roadside check. Not only was he driving a car under the influence of drugs, but the previous day he had also stolen cigarettes of various brands worth more than PLN 2,500 from one of Zgorzelec’s shops.
