The store’s security staff responded to the theft. Wanting to escape and keep the stolen goods, the thieves attacked one of the security guards. They grappled with him and beat him.
During the intervention, the man was detained and the stolen items were recovered. The woman fled.
The detained man was handed over to a police patrol. He was drunk, so he was taken to the municipal sobering-up centre. He is a 48-year-old resident of Legnica.
Measures to detain the woman suspected of the offence are under way. Robbery theft is punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
