The subject was raised during the October City Council session by Piotr Roman, mayor of Bolesławiec: “It is worth saying that, for yet another year in a row, we are not changing the property tax. And it is untrue that—because such a rumor is being spread by people who dislike us—we compensated ourselves through other taxes after deciding to abolish the property tax. It is an outright lie. And it is worth stating plainly: anyone who says this could be taken to court.”
He added: “We did not do that; taxes have been frozen for several years. For yet another year in a row, we are not introducing increases. What is more, we want this information to reach everyone. We can already see the effect in the form of an increased number of homes being built in Bolesławiec.”
P. Roman also mentioned that he had attended a meeting with the head of the “Krzyżowa” Foundation, who presented demographic forecasts for our province. “Lower Silesia is threatened by depopulation. But, of course, this does not apply to, for example, Bolesławiec, Jelenia Góra and Wrocław,” the mayor emphasized.
