All the children were beautifully and colorfully dressed as various fairy-tale characters. The hall was decorated with posters and slogans related to reading. The fairy tales were read to us by invited guests: Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, CIK Orzeł manager Jacek Dudyński, and MZS No. 3 principal Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska.
The students completed tasks related to the fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty” by Charles Perroult and the story “Szewczyk Dratewka” by Janina Porazińska. They completed the lines of the poem “Dziwaczka the Duck” by Jan Brzechwa, read by Mr. Jacek. They recited class rhymes, sang the song “On the Bergamot Islands,” and danced in processions, presenting their costumes. They also performed the La Bastringlo dance. It was colorful and joyful. The guests and classes received thank-you notes, while beautiful photographs will remain as a memento. The first-graders will soon learn about the further adventures of Szewczyk Dratewka, while the second-graders will discover other fairy tales by Charles Perroult. We all know that reading can be great fun.
