The culmination of the “Building Dialogue Through Music, Dance and Song” project, carried out at the Major Henryk Sucharski Complex of General and Vocational Schools in Bolesławiec as part of the public initiative “Polish-Ukrainian Youth Cooperation”, financed by the Ministry of National Education, was a concert held on Friday, October 30, at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec.
The joint performance by Ukrainian women of Polish descent and students from Bolesławiec’s ZSOiZ was full of music and dance, including elements of acrobatics. Oksana Daszewska, a teacher from Zbarazh, performed wonderfully, singing beautifully while accompanying herself on the bandura, a Ukrainian folk instrument.
The program included Donatan and Cleo’s great hit “My Słowianie,” the song “Hej, sokoły,” and—thanks to Anna Idkowiak, director of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre—the krakowiak.
