The duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra received a telephone report from a resident of one of the towns in Jelenia Góra County that, following an argument at home, her son had taken a knife and razor blades and, threatening suicide, had left the house and gone in an unknown direction.
The duty officer sent police officers to the scene, and they began searching for the desperate man. Forest Service officers, volunteer firefighters from the OSP and GOPR officers with dogs also joined the search.
After several hours of searching, the officers found the man and, fortunately, arrived in time to help. An ambulance was called. The man was placed in the care of doctors.
