The man was transporting goods by truck from Dresden to Wrocław. He stopped overnight in Bolesławiec. In the evening, he remembered that it was his name day and drank a considerable amount of alcohol. At dawn, he set off to continue his journey, unfortunately still intoxicated.
Drivers on the motorway noticed that the truck driven by the man was moving strangely. They notified the police, who began a pursuit. However, the man did not want to stop. Another truck driver helped apprehend him: when he saw the pursuit, he slowed down and blocked the drunk man's way with his vehicle.
Fortunately, no accident occurred. The intoxicated driver told the police that it was an unfortunate coincidence. The man had a blood alcohol level of 2 per mille. He faces two years in prison.
